Today I found my wedding dress!! It's the most amazing dress, ah. It was the first or second one I tried on but I knew it IMMEDIATELY. I tried on plenty more dresses, but none of them compared. I'm so in love with it! I want to show Dale so bad, but I know it will be better if it's a surprise on the big day :) Which means no pictures or descriptions on the internet, sorry :)
Love you all

SUMMER
Ah my first blog in forever. So far this Summer is the best. I am learning a ton about being an adult which is great because I am getting married. I am living on my own for the first time, and despite being freaked out so bad on the first night, it has been good. Learning about keeping my bills low! Also I am huge on grocery shopping. I always have been, but even more now. You can buy 3 meals for the price of one meal out to eat practically. We also have been cleaning the house, we decided to try and do that once a week for the Sisco's.....I have been working at Starbucks here which is rad. I miss Nashville, especially Fido and going to coffee shops with Emily. I also miss Jacks BBQ a ton, but nothing beats being here with Emily and her family.
Last night we decided to have a stay in date. We went out and got a Tombstone Pizza (represent) and some hot wings to cook. We also picked up Couple's Retreat to watch with dinner. We just relaxed where I am staying, ate, and had a real good meal haha. Oh we also got a ton of candy. If you have never had watermelon sour patch kids, you are missing out.
Today we jst planned a sweet trip to Florida and Disney! Just one more thing I am stoked about this summer. I am excited we get to go chill with my mom and go to Disney and the beach and what not. This is going to rule so hard its not even funny.
Well, basically, I am extremely happy. I am working hard writing when I am not at the Sbux so I can get published some places. I am also working on another writing project that is going pretty well, I just have to get it done :x. I am thankful to spend this summer with my beautiful, loving, compassionate fiance who I love more than my own life.
Thanks for reading!

End of April
Wow, I think it is time for an update??
Hm well there are few things that I can think of to blog about. One being our engagement party!! This was such a blast. We just invited all of our close friends to spend some time together and we played games and catered Moe's. Thank you sooo much to Brad Perry and Cameron/Chelsea for planning everything and providing a place. We have amazing and supportive friends and we love them all very much. Brad created an awesome How I Met Your Mother trivia game for Dale and I to compete in...we played Disney Scene-It and Apple-to Apples. I'm glad we got to spend this time with our friends and we were reminded how blessed we are in life.
We are one step closer on the wedding planning....we have a wedding party now! Woohoo!
Also as many of you have heard, Nashville is in a state of emergency from the flooding over the weekend. It was absolutely unbelievable here, some of the things we saw! Things are better today and most of the water has gone down, but there are still damages and people who need help. We are thankful to the Godfrey's for their hospitality because we could not get back to school. Keep Nashville in your prayers.
Welp, we are down to the last week of school! Finals started Friday and we are almost done! We will be in Atlanta by this weekend!! Can't wait to start our jobs and have a great summer :)

Good weekends
This week has bee super busy so far, and today is only Monday. We have finals pretty soon, so all our teachers are giving us work to do now, and Starbucks, and sanctuary all pile up to make things crazy! I am just down right pooped, but that is fine with me :D. I am excited to be working as much as I am and I am getting a great education. Plus, this weekend Emily and i went over to our friend's, the Godfreys, house. We watched a movie with them, played games with Christian, and got to sit on our favorite couch to watch our favorite T.V show. We were planning on heading back to Nashville to celebrate Emily's 21st bday at Mazatlan, but we remembered how much we loved being at a home. Instead of heading back to Nashville we hung out in Spring Hill. We ordered O'Charley's to go...but I accidentaly ordered it in columbia so once we realized my mistake, Emily and I drove all the way out to Columbia and back. I was hoping to get her the perfect dinner, but I did not pay close attention to which store I called haha. Anywho, I had such a good weekend. We are coming up on our third week as an engaged couple!!!! So far its goe by pretty darn fast. I am going to be thankful I can say that now, becauase im sure I will be wanting it to go by faster in the future. Time for me to try and sleep, I just got off work at 12:50....in the morning.

Coffee Blog #2
Yesterday we had some down time so Dale and I decided to try out our second coffee shop. We went to Fido's in Hillsboro Village by Vanderbilt. Fido's used to be a pet shop, which is how they came up with the name "Fidos" (Also, apparently, Fido's and Bongo Java are the same company) Not only do they serve coffee but they have really great food and deserts as well (muffins, cookies, bagels, salads, sandwiches, etc). I got a strawberry/banana muffin and a cinnamon latte. Dale's drink was not a coffee drink but more of a hot chocolate. It was called the "Dalmatian". It was a mixture of white chocolate sauce, chocolate shavings and whipped cream....pretty much a sugar high but it was great. Most of their drinks have some sort of "canine" theme...like the "milkbone", the "hot dog", the "bull dog" and the "rolo(ver)". Here are some pictures that we took of the drinks, etc!
P.S. This was my SECOND coffee of the day...which is crazy for me...I don't know when I turned into a coffee drinking person! I blame Dale for working at Starbucks ;)

A few things, wedding, coffee
Today we made quite a few decisions about our wedding. We did not wake up today knowing that we had a lot to get done but then all of a sudden things started falling into our laps! Not complaining, of course, I have been dying to plan and finalize things! First of all, the date for our wedding is June 4th, 2011! :) Exactly 418 days from today. I could not be more excited. We also looked into honeymoon stuff because we realized that we should probably book it far in advance, to be safe. This was even more exciting! :) We are pretty set on a cruise. Even though our wedding is a year away, we arent too far ahead of the game....a lot of stuff has to get taken care of early early. Annnnnnnd let the craziness begin! :)
In other news, Dale is pursuing writing and taking a class where he gets to write articles about movies, concerts, music, ect for Lipscomb. He had the brilliant idea of going to all the coffee shops in Nashville and writing a series of reviews on them. We love coffee so this is a lot of fun for both of us and is something we can experience together. I am going to write stuff here, while he writes stuff for Lipscomb's newpaper. Last night we ventured over to Belmont's campus. They have a coffee shop called Bongo Java; it is literally a house turned into a coffee shop. I've been there before and it's a really neat place. I thought the coffee was awesome (but I am not a coffee elitist) and mine had cool latte art. There are about 5 or 6 other places that we want to try out this month. I'm looking forward to it.

Date Night!
This is just a short blog. Emily and I have officially been engaged for a week! It flew by so fast. I am glad to know that I still have the best date nights with Emily after 13 months of being with each other. We saw Date Night and went to Applebee's afterward tonight. I hate having to leave Emily at her dorm at the end of a night when we don't have anything else to do. By like 9 or 10 we are usually just pooped and ready to relax together and watch How I Met Your mother, but that cant really happen here. Even though it sucks we cant do that some nights, I am thankful for every good memory....every Nintendo DS rondevous...every late night McDonalds run...and all the other amazing stuff we do. Emily is a huge trooper. I wish I could come see her and tuck her in, but Lipscomb is just too mean to me! I wont have to deal with it much longer!
Did I menion how glad I am we are engaged?
K thanks

ENGAGED!!!
Wow I still can not believe this! On Friday April 2nd my best friend in the whole world asked me to be his wife. I can not be more excited. We are most likely going to get married in early June of 2011. He proposed in the Campus Church auditorium (the original one, where I grew up) and that is also where we want to get married. It was very special and the proposal was really meaningful to our relationship. If you know us, then you know that music is a big part of our lives. We somewhat "owe" our relationship to the band Copeland, and he played their song, "Thanks To You" before proposing. Maybe I will blog about the Copeland thing another time. Anyways...I kinda lost it haha. My eyes were so watery that I could barely even SEE the ring as he put it on my finger. All in all, it was the best weekend of my life so far and it was even better than I had ever dreamed of.
I'm excited to update this for everyone as the planning and the wedding starts coming together. Every detail is so exciting to me. Right now we are just taking in this really awesome time in our lives and enjoying getting used to saying "fiance"! I'm so happy that Dale is the person that I get to spend the rest of my life with. God has already blessed us in so many ways and I can't wait to see what happens next.
I never would have thought 3 years ago that I was going to Lipscomb to meet and marry a Lipscomb! What do ya know? And I really...really...like the name Emily Lipscomb :)
I'm getting married!!!!!!
Here are a couple pictures but look at my facebook, as well as my dad's or mom's, for other pictures.

MY RING(s)! I can't even believe that this is my finger hahah.

Just minutes before we arrived.
My dad set up the stage and filmed the whole thing from the sound booth.

She says "yes"
So as many of you have heard, last Friday i proposed to Emily. I was real sneaky and did a good job. I basically played a mini concert for her, then asked her to marry me. Yes, I got down on one knee. I could not decide if I should laugh or cry when I asked. I was really losing my mind, and saying stupid things. In movies and stories proposing seems like it takes so long, but in reality it was like one second. I would propose over and over again. We got good video of it all and I sound hilarious but so awesome. I was shaking so bad I could not get the ring on her finger. I feel like everything is good now. I am not freaking out, and I am just way to happy. I have no idea even how to put it into words, but so far I have never experienced something as amazing. I do not have a happier memory in my life. I would seriously ask her to marry me every day. I want everything I do for her to remind her that I would ask her over and over again.
She is my Fiance!!!!!!

new tradition
I have this great new tradition of picking up Emily on nights she does not go to sanctuary. I can see her one last time and eat some McDonalds. I will be fat soon because of this. We have had an awesome week. We spent a day hanging around Franklin looking for books and eating at Puckets. I am beyond thankful for all the time I have spent doing amazing stuff with Emily. She is alseep right now, and as sad as it is....i miss her. I cant wait to see her tomorrow.

Spring Break '10
Dale and I had a very relaxing, yet productive, Spring Break last week. We saw movies, watched our favorite TV show (How I Met Your Mother), walked Sophie, shopped and got hair cuts! Oh and we ate GOOD food. Not fried fast-food via Lipscomb but homemade, nutritious food via Mom. We are seriously deprived of that here at school to say the least haha. Chef Dale even cooked for me. And I'm going to brag right now because he makes a mean BBQ sauce! From scratch. All ladies should be extremely jealous! :)
We also researched summer schools and applied for roughly 6-7 summer jobs each. That was our goal for Spring Break and we were pretty successful.
I was pretty grumpy driving back to school yesterday though. A) because it was POURING rain the whole way and B) just because we had to go back to school. But it helped remembering how blessed I am and how much God loves and takes care of us. Also, I'm thankful I got to spend my spring break with Dale because, as we all know, being apart during breaks downright stinks. But if nothing else had gone right, atleast we were together!
We seriously had a great break and now there is only about a month left of school!

Thinking about today
The best kind of tired happens after you have spent a day working on work and school with the person you love. Emily and I have been applying for Summer jobs in Atlanta right now. I basically transformed from a nice calm Dale, to a crazy applying for job maniac. Emily just stood by me and supported me while I applied at every store I could think up. A few hours ago we just laughed at how ridiculous I was being. I sat and worked on the longest application ever through over half of The Time Traveler's Wife.
Pretty much I realized today how amazing life is. I havent laughed and smiled for no reason this much in forever. Emily is really the most amazing beautiful woman. She makes me smile more and laugh harder everyday.
I had a flash-forward to when we are both in our 40s and wathing tv....or whatever they will have when we are 40....and all we do is laugh and smile. I think I am going to look back and say, "Wow, the best thing that ever happened to me is still with me."

One Year Anniversary
Wow, where do I even begin with all that I want to say. Today Dale and I have been dating for a whole year! I can not believe it. Probably this time a year ago, we were holding hands for the first time. It is very difficult to summarize our first year into a blog. All I really know is that this has been the greatest year of my life and it's great to know that there are many more to come! I am beyond blessed to be with him and and be in love with him. Over this year we have grown a lot and learned a lot. We have shared a lot together- the good and the bad. I'm thankful for it all and wouldn't change a second of it. I'm grateful that he is the one that I get to share these things with. I thank God for Dale and our relationship everyday. Before, it was kinda weird to think about finding that perfect person for me. I never really understood how that would feel until I met Dale. God knew exactly what he was doing. Dale is my best friend, the love of my life, an amazing man of God and so much more.
I forget where we heard this but we really liked it... It was a quote that said "Always kiss like its the first and the last time." It's important to not take that person for granted and always show them how much you love them. I am so happy to wear the promise ring that he gave me in December. It was the most meaningful thing anyone has done for me.
Here are some pictures from over the year :D

We went to DISNEY!!

Beach Trip

6 months at P.F. Changs

This one is just my favorite

Promise Ring :)

Thanksgiving
I think that is enough pictures. Anyways, I cant wait to see what else God has in store for us. I know it will be awesome.

one year!
Emily and I have officially spent a whole year dating. Even though I have had some real terrible days, the year I have spent with her has been the best year of my life. In the car tonight (on our way back from Pei Wei!), we talked about all the things we had done in JUST one year. We have been to Kings Island twice. We saw a bajillion concerts including Thrice, New Found Glory, Blink 182, Copeland, and Paramore to name a few. We went to Florida twice and Disney once. We have seen amazing movies. We have gone to a soccer game. I swear, we have done more things in one year than some people get to do in just one lifetime.
We have grown up so much. A year ago we were just little babies, but now we are best friends and inseperable. Some of the best memories of the year consist of Emily and I getting to just relax and laugh and enjoy being in love. I am blessed to know I will have years and years of the same to come.
I want everyone to know how beautiful, talented, and wonderful Emily is. She is the most compassionate, loving, and tender hearted woman I know. I never imagined someone so perfect for me existed. Now that I know how wonderful she is, I would never ever ever want anything mroe than to cherish her forever.

too much work, not enough Emily
Believe it or not, this semester I have been juggling 18 hours of school, playing in a worship band weekly, working anywhere from 18-25 hours a week, and most importantly, spending time with the love of my life. I wont lie, some days have been pretty rough. I have been real tired, and Emily has been awesome. She has been my biggest support and kept me going when I just wanted to crash in my bed.
I am so thankful for every moment I get to spend with her. Even tonight, we sat and talked and laughed in the car while we ate Mcdonalds, and I would never trade any of the time we spent sitting in the car just to see each other.

the two best friends that anyone could have!
this week has turned out to be pretty dang awesome all around. Despite all my working, Emily and I managed to do some awesome things. Tuesdays are ice cream days. Lipscomb Students get a discount at Maggie Moo's. On Wednesday Netherlands played USA in soccer and Emily got us taco bell! She loves me so much. I told her she did not have to go do that, but she said she didn't want me to miss the game. She did NOT mention in her blog how much trouble she had dealing with other slow drivers just to get food. She is the best. Thursday morning I worked 6:30am-12:00pm then did class and went straight to sanctuary practice after I had a fun dinner with Emmy. I am thankful for all of our lunch and dinner breaks.
TODAY was the best day though. We had an early anniversary celebration because, for one, we had nothing going on. We started by going to get dinner at Cheesecake factory. Her mom sent us a gift card (thanks Mrs. Sisco!) so we hardly had to pay anything. Her mom also sent us some free movie tickets which we used to see Alice in Wonderland! The kid behind us said, "any movie with Robin Williams is good!" to which I silently replied to Emily, "Flubber was NOT great.."
One of my finer moments for sure.
I am thankful for the time I spend with Emily. Even when work and school are crazy, she and I can just relax and play Mario Party ds. No matter what we do, I know we will have fun, and laugh, and smile.

Soccer!
Soccer plays a somewhat big part in mine and Dale's relationship. We have watched a lot of USA games together and last April we went to USA vs Trindad/Tobago. I think that was kind of like our first "date". One of my favorite days ever was right before we started dating and I went over to Dale's house to watch the soccer game and eat taco bell! It was just such a good night. Dale was really suprised that I actually got into the game haha. I actually really do like watching soccer...I mean, all those years I played soccer shouldn't be put to waste!
I also like watching soccer with Dale because every time the USA scores, I get 3 kisses. :) haha
Well, I get kisses anyways but it's just a silly thing Dale started.
Actually, right now, we are watching USA vs. the Netherlands. I also went and got us Taco Bell :)
Less than 100 days until World Cup 2010!

one year down
Well for starts I have no idea what to say about the fact that a year ago yesterday my dad passed away. I do know that he may have been taken in battle by cancer, but he was a champion of life. One of my favorite things about my dad was his ability to get business done. I have never met anyone who worked as hard to support a family and make the right choices. I also loved how he took care of my mom. No offense, but even when my mom was doing something I didn't like and felt the need to argue, he would say, "You cant, and I even cant because we are supposed to love her; she is my wife and she is your mom"....that's basically what he was saying. He loved my mom soo well.
I loved how my dad knew how music was one of the most powerful art forms in the world. He gave my brother and I so much support in music and soccer and paintball. Pretty much everything we did. I am glad to say I always wanted my dad to be around supporting me.
I was telling Emily about how I want to be the kind of dad who will always sit and play legos with my kids or whatever they will have. I am just thankful I had a dad who was invested in my life. I know there are so many kids and teenagers who have never had that, and I hate that.
All I know is I could go on for hours about all the awesome things I have done with my dad...fishing, theme parks, trips, disney quest, soccer games, video games...the list could seriously go on forever.
All this good outweighs all the awful, horrible days I had to face and probably will have more of. But I never forget the joy of having a dad and knowing now I will always have two fathers in heaven watching out for me.
