new tradition

I have this great new tradition of picking up Emily on nights she does not go to sanctuary. I can see her one last time and eat some McDonalds. I will be fat soon because of this. We have had an awesome week. We spent a day hanging around Franklin looking for books and eating at Puckets. I am beyond thankful for all the time I have spent doing amazing stuff with Emily. She is alseep right now, and as sad as it is....i miss her. I cant wait to see her tomorrow.

love you babe.

Spring Break '10

Dale and I had a very relaxing, yet productive, Spring Break last week. We saw movies, watched our favorite TV show (How I Met Your Mother), walked Sophie, shopped and got hair cuts! Oh and we ate GOOD food. Not fried fast-food via Lipscomb but homemade, nutritious food via Mom. We are seriously deprived of that here at school to say the least haha. Chef Dale even cooked for me. And I'm going to brag right now because he makes a mean BBQ sauce! From scratch. All ladies should be extremely jealous! :)

We also researched summer schools and applied for roughly 6-7 summer jobs each. That was our goal for Spring Break and we were pretty successful.

I was pretty grumpy driving back to school yesterday though. A) because it was POURING rain the whole way and B) just because we had to go back to school. But it helped remembering how blessed I am and how much God loves and takes care of us. Also, I'm thankful I got to spend my spring break with Dale because, as we all know, being apart during breaks downright stinks. But if nothing else had gone right, atleast we were together!

We seriously had a great break and now there is only about a month left of school!

Thinking about today

The best kind of tired happens after you have spent a day working on work and school with the person you love. Emily and I have been applying for Summer jobs in Atlanta right now. I basically transformed from a nice calm Dale, to a crazy applying for job maniac. Emily just stood by me and supported me while I applied at every store I could think up. A few hours ago we just laughed at how ridiculous I was being. I sat and worked on the longest application ever through over half of The Time Traveler's Wife.

Pretty much I realized today how amazing life is. I havent laughed and smiled for no reason this much in forever. Emily is really the most amazing beautiful woman. She makes me smile more and laugh harder everyday.

I had a flash-forward to when we are both in our 40s and wathing tv....or whatever they will have when we are 40....and all we do is laugh and smile. I think I am going to look back and say, "Wow, the best thing that ever happened to me is still with me."

One Year Anniversary

Wow, where do I even begin with all that I want to say. Today Dale and I have been dating for a whole year! I can not believe it. Probably this time a year ago, we were holding hands for the first time. It is very difficult to summarize our first year into a blog. All I really know is that this has been the greatest year of my life and it's great to know that there are many more to come! I am beyond blessed to be with him and and be in love with him. Over this year we have grown a lot and learned a lot. We have shared a lot together- the good and the bad. I'm thankful for it all and wouldn't change a second of it. I'm grateful that he is the one that I get to share these things with. I thank God for Dale and our relationship everyday. Before, it was kinda weird to think about finding that perfect person for me. I never really understood how that would feel until I met Dale. God knew exactly what he was doing. Dale is my best friend, the love of my life, an amazing man of God and so much more.

I forget where we heard this but we really liked it... It was a quote that said "Always kiss like its the first and the last time." It's important to not take that person for granted and always show them how much you love them. I am so happy to wear the promise ring that he gave me in December. It was the most meaningful thing anyone has done for me.

Here are some pictures from over the year :D

We went to DISNEY!!

I think that is enough pictures. Anyways, I cant wait to see what else God has in store for us. I know it will be awesome.

Emily

one year!

Emily and I have officially spent a whole year dating. Even though I have had some real terrible days, the year I have spent with her has been the best year of my life. In the car tonight (on our way back from Pei Wei!), we talked about all the things we had done in JUST one year. We have been to Kings Island twice. We saw a bajillion concerts including Thrice, New Found Glory, Blink 182, Copeland, and Paramore to name a few. We went to Florida twice and Disney once. We have seen amazing movies. We have gone to a soccer game. I swear, we have done more things in one year than some people get to do in just one lifetime.

We have grown up so much. A year ago we were just little babies, but now we are best friends and inseperable. Some of the best memories of the year consist of Emily and I getting to just relax and laugh and enjoy being in love. I am blessed to know I will have years and years of the same to come.
I want everyone to know how beautiful, talented, and wonderful Emily is. She is the most compassionate, loving, and tender hearted woman I know. I never imagined someone so perfect for me existed. Now that I know how wonderful she is, I would never ever ever want anything mroe than to cherish her forever.

too much work, not enough Emily

Believe it or not, this semester I have been juggling 18 hours of school, playing in a worship band weekly, working anywhere from 18-25 hours a week, and most importantly, spending time with the love of my life. I wont lie, some days have been pretty rough. I have been real tired, and Emily has been awesome. She has been my biggest support and kept me going when I just wanted to crash in my bed.

I am so thankful for every moment I get to spend with her. Even tonight, we sat and talked and laughed in the car while we ate Mcdonalds, and I would never trade any of the time we spent sitting in the car just to see each other.

the two best friends that anyone could have!

this week has turned out to be pretty dang awesome all around. Despite all my working, Emily and I managed to do some awesome things. Tuesdays are ice cream days. Lipscomb Students get a discount at Maggie Moo's. On Wednesday Netherlands played USA in soccer and Emily got us taco bell! She loves me so much. I told her she did not have to go do that, but she said she didn't want me to miss the game. She did NOT mention in her blog how much trouble she had dealing with other slow drivers just to get food. She is the best. Thursday morning I worked 6:30am-12:00pm then did class and went straight to sanctuary practice after I had a fun dinner with Emmy. I am thankful for all of our lunch and dinner breaks.

TODAY was the best day though. We had an early anniversary celebration because, for one, we had nothing going on. We started by going to get dinner at Cheesecake factory. Her mom sent us a gift card (thanks Mrs. Sisco!) so we hardly had to pay anything. Her mom also sent us some free movie tickets which we used to see Alice in Wonderland! The kid behind us said, "any movie with Robin Williams is good!" to which I silently replied to Emily, "Flubber was NOT great.."

One of my finer moments for sure.

I am thankful for the time I spend with Emily. Even when work and school are crazy, she and I can just relax and play Mario Party ds. No matter what we do, I know we will have fun, and laugh, and smile.

Soccer!

Soccer plays a somewhat big part in mine and Dale's relationship. We have watched a lot of USA games together and last April we went to USA vs Trindad/Tobago. I think that was kind of like our first "date". One of my favorite days ever was right before we started dating and I went over to Dale's house to watch the soccer game and eat taco bell! It was just such a good night. Dale was really suprised that I actually got into the game haha. I actually really do like watching soccer...I mean, all those years I played soccer shouldn't be put to waste!

I also like watching soccer with Dale because every time the USA scores, I get 3 kisses. :) haha
Well, I get kisses anyways but it's just a silly thing Dale started.

Actually, right now, we are watching USA vs. the Netherlands. I also went and got us Taco Bell :)

Less than 100 days until World Cup 2010!
